A competition Board Entry: Appreciating Local Ferrymen and Encouraging Visitors
This new ferry building is inspired by a desire to frame the surrounding landscape and highlight key moments in Easdale’s history, all from the comfort of a single room.
Taking the idea that each new element required is angled a certain way as to capture incredible views. Both the ferry men, visitors and locals are well thought of in these space as no view is the same yet each one is as beautiful as the others, each framing window is carefully placed in each room as to focus on specific points. As seen from the concept sketch to the right, the ideas for these simple block forms expands further than that with careful placement next to the existing ferry building, creating a flowing form that can be walked through from start to finish.
